Meg is informed and knowledgeable about how to utilize funding to the fullest potential to make an impact for students and teachers. Having worked with Title I, II, IV, ESSER grants, and the competitive BSCA funding, she can guide you through the IDOE processes as well as make suggestions on how funding can be used together. As a grant specialist for IDOE, she managed over 250 districts across these different funding streams which involved a high level of organization, completing data reports to the US Department of Education, and learning that every school district operates in its own, unique way.
One role Meg held her entire time at IDOE was managing and overseeing Title I-D funding which is specifically for juvenile neglected and delinquent facilities in Indiana. These funds are used to support and provide an equitable education for students while they reside at such facilities. She has a passion to help students and staff while their time is spent with these facilities, and to ensure all voices are heard.
Meg received her bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology with a minor in Sociology from Ball State University. She took at job at the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute (ICJI) as a Grant Manager right after graduation where she worked with state and federal grants. She then transitioned to the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) and worked with Title I-A, Title I-D, Title II-A, SIG, ESSERs, Title IV-A, and Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA) as a Grant Specialist during her five years there. She spent those years learning all of the ins and outs of how Indiana schools use their federal funding for programs to support students in every aspect of their learning career.

Meg grew up in Indiana and Ohio so is a true midwestern gal at heart. She is a mother to two little boys and two crazy dogs - there is always a mess and never a dull moment. She enjoys spending time with family, gardening (then canning), baking, hiking with her husband/kiddos, and volunteering at her church parish. Meg has a passion for serving others however she can – whether that's listening to a friend in need or helping a district with their grants and keeping things organized.
