Cole began his career in English language acquisition as an EL teacher. During his tenure at IDOE, he started in the Office of English Learning and Migrant Education where he supported districts in providing quality English Language Development instruction. He has also served as Public Agency Representative for special education programming in non-public schools in Indiana. 

 Cole Dietrich is an experienced education leader and consultant with a strong background in grant administration, K–12 program development, and school leadership. During his tenure, he has gained experience in providing technical assistance, grant writing, and federal program support to state agencies, districts, and national organizations.

Previously, he served Director of Title Grants and Support at the Indiana Department of Education where he managed federal and state allocations, oversaw pandemic relief programs, and led statewide technical assistance and compliance monitoring. 

Cole began his career in English Learning and K–8 Spanish instruction at a charter school in Indianapolis, where he built a compliant and high-impact EL program, trained staff, and supported family engagement.
